Principal's Message
ON BEHALF OF THE TEACHERS AND STAFF AT MESA, WELCOME TO OUR SCHOOL’S WEBSITE.
Mesa is a Human Rights Campaign Seal of Excellence Welcoming School. This means that we prioritize the success of each and every student through valuing and appreciating the variety of strengths, needs, and characteristics in our students and their families. Mesa is a high achieving school. We have earned the John J. Irwin Colorado Schools of Excellence Award based on Mesa students’ outstanding academic performance. Annually, Mesa is designated as a High Performance school by the State Department of Education. The community values education of the whole child, and the arts and athletics are important components of our educational program.
In addition to their remarkable achievement in class activities, Mesa students demonstrate their achievement in the arts through participation in our Art Shows; KG-4 grade music performances; and the M&Ms' production of musicals such as Aladdin, Annie, HONK, and Lion King. In athletics, running the BolderBoulder with Fitness Club is a remarkable success each year.
Mesa is also proud to have an Intensive Learning Center, devoted to supporting the strengths and needs of students on the Autism Spectrum. Our R.I.S.E. (Reaching Independence through Structured Environments) program is a critical component to our school identity, as we are propelled to constantly learning and growing our skill sets and strategies for all types of learners.
The fundamental attribute that distinguishes Mesa from other schools is our strong sense of community.
Go Mustangs!
