If you have an incoming neighborhood student, we ask that you begin the online enrollment process for your child now.

Students are eligible for kindergarten enrollment if they turn 5 on or before October 1.

To enroll your child, go to the BVSD Online Registration page.  Make sure to select the 2020-2021 school year.

​Infinite Campus Parent Portal will provide digital access to students' report cards for grades 1-5 on the following dates:

1st trimester - November 14, 2019
2nd trimester - February 26, 2020
3rd trimester - May 30, 2020

Report cards are available for 60 days through Infinite Campus.

Rehearsals begin on Thursday, February 20, at 7:45am in preparation for our next show.  We are having rehearsals on "A" DAYS ONLY to get ready for our spring performance on Thursday, April 30.  Thank you everyone for your help and support!

Mesa students will jump rope on either February 11 or 12 to raise funds for cardiovascular research and educational programs.

Mesa Elementary School will be closed for Winter Break from December 23, 2019 through January 3, 2020.

Teachers return to school on Monday, January 6, 2020; classes for students resume on Tuesday, January 7, 2020.

BVSD Open Enrollment for the 2020-2021 school year begins on November 1, 2019.  Mesa will host three Open Houses for prospective parents:

All events begin at 9:00am, are parent-only, and include a Q&A session plus guided school tour.  To make a reservation, prospective parents complete this form.

December 9, 6:00-7:30pm, Southern Hills Middle School

Bicycle Colorado will present a fast-paced, interactive class for parents and students about:

  • techniques for drivers to avoid the most common crashes between motorists and bicyclists
  • how to navigate on-street bicycle infrastructure
  • methods cyclists can use to be safer on the roads

This FREE class will also be an excellent opportunity for participants to ask questions about particular intersections in South Boulder that have a lot of bicycle traffic.

Students interested in a lead role in our 5th grade musical will need to audition for the part.  Auditions take place after school on Wednesday, October 23, 5-Brinker cast and Thursday, October 24, 5-Hobert cast.  Please remember that students must turn in a permission slip BEFORE their audition.

​Join the Mesa community at Sweet Cow in South Boulder on October 2.  Sweet Cow will donate a percentage of sales back to our school.  Please mention Mesa at checkout.



​"Ride & Stride" is a special activity on the morning of Walk-to-School Day.  Students and parents, particularly school bus riders and carpool groups, meet at Bear Creek Park and walk to Mesa from there.

"Ride & Stride" gives ALL students the opportunity to participate in Walk-to-School Day on October 2.  Principal Baldner will meet students and parents at Bear Creek Park and lead the walkers to Mesa at 8:15am.



Mesa is pleased to be working with Lifetouch for school portraits this year.  Online ordering begins 2 weeks before Picture Day, and fliers with digital identification codes were sent home with students.  Photo packages will be shipped directly to the parents’ homes.


If parents would like to cheer on their students, please meet us on the upper deck during PE class.

Mesa buys school supplies in bulk and asks parents to donate the "at cost" amount that the school uses to purchase the items.

For 2019-2020, the Mesa "ask" for grade-level school supplies is:

Mesa uses the online Rev Trak Payment System for the school supplies "ask."  Rev Trak provides a simple, secure, and convenient way of making online payments using a VISA, MasterCard, or Discover credit/debit card.

Back-to-School Night provides an outstanding opportunity to learn about the resources and supports devoted to helping each and every child grow as a learner and a person.

Back-to-School Night Schedule:
6:00-6:40pm - Session 1 in the grade level classrooms
6:40-7:00pm - Session 2 in the grade level classrooms (to accommodate families with more than one Mesa student)
7:00pm - End of event

We're very sorry, but given the volume of attendance, this is the one event of the year for which we do not offer child care.  We hope families are able to make arrangements for the night.
